MOTHER MAY I
This is my mom. She loves chickens, her terrible old english sheepdog named Winston, knitting sweaters for her jack russell terrier, Oliver, and also a myriad of other things that aren't animal related. Writing, for instance, and learning new things.
Here are a few things I've learned from my mom.
I've learned to get back up when life knocks you down.
I've learned that it's not as hard as it seems to beat Super Mario Brothers.
She showed me the first three chords I learned to play on guitar.
She home schooled my brothers and I until recently, and my sister as well for a time, which left a lot of room for me to develop my love for photography and for music. My two youngest brothers are in public school now, and she's dedicated herself to helping them be successful.
A few weeks ago I was having a really rough day, and she sat and spent the whole morning watching and making fun of the worlds worst Christmas movies. She's endured as I pursued my love for tattoos; moved to the other side of the country; convinced her to let bands who were not only strangers to her, but to me, stay at our house and take over our living room with blankets and pillows; she has allowed me to challenge the way she thinks, and to be who I am; gone along with my spontaneous photo shoots because the lighting is right and we have to do it right now.
